Design Gives Back

Kelee has a sponsor that will donate $2,ooo if we decorate 150 scarves. This money is for abandoned pets and pets whose owners can no longer feed and take care of them. We had fun and the money is going to a worthwhile project. In the picture are 3 gals from our Lakeside Ladies Quilt Group. L-R, Kaye (me) sitting, Pat (ALittle of This and a Little of Pat) and our friend Linda (not a blogger yet, but we are working on her). My dog Emily wasn't too happy posing for the picture but I got it. Pats blog probably has pictures of her dog Pepi and Linda's greyhound Chatsworth or as we call him Chatty.

  5. What a fun project. The pets look so happy wearing scarves, but I know they don't care. It sure makes us feel good, though!

  6. What a sweet project.

I rescued my dog. It wasn't from bad circumstances, but I'll tell you what happened. I went on a quilting retreat in a retreat center at a convent. While I was there this little puppy kept following me around. The sisters said that they weren't allowed to have pets there, but someone had dropped her off and they didn't know what to do with her. She had been living there for about a month. No one would take her, so they started feeding her biscuits and gravy and spoiling her rotten. They had finally decided, though, that they were going to send her to the dog pound. They kept praying that someone would take her.

I wasn't looking for a dog, but I guess she found me. Since I was at a convent it and they had been praying, I have a feeling it was God that brought us together. :) I brought her home and she's my pal. I try to make scarfs for her, but she won't wear them. lol

  7. Hi Kaye, I think your dog looks great in that scarf and what a neat fundraiser! I loved reading Amanda's convent dog story so am glad I stopped by. Had to tell you that I goofed and posted the wrong link for the Halloween pumpkin. Now if you go back to my blog and click the "here" for the pumpkin link, it will take you right to Kaaren's cute patchwork pumpkin!
