B irds Nest

I don't post everyday and here I am doing 2 in 1 day. I just wanted to share this with you. We have a golf cart that we use to go to the pool, for the mail, ride around the neighborhood and just about anything we want. Kids have to be 15 to drive solo and get a permit from the office. Ours is electric and we use it a lot. Well it rained and water collected in the rear of the roof in the canvas extension, To our surprise and amazement we found squatters in the folded extension. Thank goodness when we went to let water out of it we did not disturb the nest as it has a few babie eggs in it. We don't know what kind of bird but she must like golf. We had nest's this year in my coleous plant and in my flowering tree on side of the house, but our GOLF CART ???????

  1. THAT is a new place for a nest...haven't heard of anyone finding that anywhere on their golf carts!!! The eggs look very similar to the cardinal eggs we had here last month and I know they do several nests each season. Once the eggs hatch, you won't be able to use the cart as the parents are CONSTANTLY there feeding them....and that lasts for about 10 days. (If you use the cart and the parents can't feed them, the babies won't stand a chance.) Guess it will be back to using the car for a week and a half. I believe the eggs hatched about 7 - 10 days after being laid, but since you don't know when the eggs were laid, you'll just have to look each day to see when they are hatched.
